So you found the perfect man and now need the perfect dress? You came to the right place! Call us to schedule an appointment or to ask us anything at all! In the mean time, here are a few things you may find helpful...
I have never tried on gowns before, how does this work?
Since Priscilla of Boston is a couture bridal salon, we have sample gowns in our showroom to try on. They range in size from 8 - 14. You will be paired with one of our three expert consultants. She will help you in and out of your gowns - some may need to be tightened or loosened based on the style - but don't worry, it is just a sample, yours will be ordered brand new, straight from our factory!
One thing to keep in mind is that we do need ordering time of at least 4 - 8 months (depending on the gown) and an additional 2 months for alterations. A year in advance is the perfect amount of time but we will work with your timeline the very best we can!
Ok, I found "the one" - now what??
Congratulations! Your consultant and one of our Directors will take your measurements to ensure we order the proper size. In some cases, you will have a choice in color, and then your order will immediately begin production.
How does payment work?
We take all major credit cards and cash. We also have a Priscilla of Boston credit card that offers 6 months interest free financing. A minimum of 50% deposit is required at the time of order and, since all of our gowns are made to order, each sale is final.
How do alterations work?
Great question! Unlike other salons, we have our alterations department located IN our salon. You will come to the same location, but this time you will have an appointment with your seamstress. There are usually two fittings where you actually try your gown on, but may be more depending on your second fitting. Since each gown and bride is unique, we never know how many fittings you will need or how many alterations will need to be done until your first fitting.
How much are alterations?
Alterations are NOT included in the cost of your gown. Some brides may not need any additional alterations, but the majority of brides should plan to spend $300 - $800 in alterations. If you are concerned about the cost, we are always happy to set up a free consultation. A Priscilla Bride is never required to use our alterations and are always welcome to take the gown elsewhere if she prefers.

The best part is that we adjust your gown until it is perfect. Our seamstresses are some of the most experienced and particular in the business and they appreciate the investment you have put in your gown.
How do I care for my gown?
Once you arrive to your destination, it is normal for the gown to have wrinkled in transit. ALWAYS READ THE CARE LABEL on your own gown, but as a rule of thumb, bring a travel steamer to smooth out any wrinkles. Some dresses may require a dry iron instead, so always check the label and, if in doubt, call us!

What do I do with my gown after the wedding?
Luckly, POB offers cleaning & preservation of your gown. We use a Orange Restioration Labs and they do a phenominal job. Feel free to bring your veil, head piece, and anything else you want preserved and they will take care of the rest. We even offer $100 off for every Priscilla bride in need of this wonderful service.
